Simone Simons (Epica Vocalist) born in Hoensbroek, January 17, 1985. She is the singer of Dutch symphonic metal band Epica. Simons is musically active since her tenth, when she was playing the flute. After one year they did this and she took jazz and popzanglessen. Here Simons developed a mezzo soprano and sang in a choir for some months.
In 2002, former After Forever guitarist Mark Jansen band Saharan Dust. First there was the singer Helena Michaelsen, but left moments later and was succeeded by Simons. Later the name changed to the band EPICA, as an homage to the eponymous CD of the band Kamelot. Their first album, entitled The Phantom Agony, was published in 2003.
